FRENCH LICK, INDIANA — What a course! With an 80.5 rating, a 151 slope, and over 8100 yards in length, the Pete Dye Course at French Lick is a beast! The first hole required 250 carry to get onto the fairway (from the tips). Better have no shanks on this course. The high requirement for good golf surely explains the steep slope — mid- to high-handicappers must be eaten alive here.
It was funny how the caddy suggested putting from about 20-30 yards off the green, because people who play there do it a lot. It goes to show how hard this course is on the daily. — The caddy quickly became impressed when the boys open up with pars on the first hole.
Great golf content to watch! Worth every second. 🙂
