PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLORIDA — Grant Horvat gives us another episode of The Cut Series, where he plays golf at TPC Sawgrass while speculating if he could play good enough to make the cut at The Players Championship. He plays incredible golf and keeps it very close throughout his round. Did he make the cut? Watch and see.
Grant really shows his caliber on this video. Any average golfer would easily be 10 over after 9, a mid-handicapper maybe 5 over after 9 (that would probably be Micah), and a true scratch golfer would keep it close to even par after 9.
But, what after 18 holes? What would the score be?
In this video, Grant gets a lot of help from his great caddy (did not catch his name). Great course knowledge, great advice, and great reads. If only he had been a bit more stringent with Grant on that first Par 5, where Grant chose to go 3-wood, when all the caddy wanted was a 225 shot. Listen to you caddy, peeps!
Grant did do a little bit of scramble in this video, but it is his high level of play that kept him in play and alive after very difficult positions. It does take skill to escape trouble from some of the positions he was in.
So, does Grant make the cut? It may all come down to the last hole or a last putt.
