STAMFORD, CONNECTICUT — BustaJack play at Rockrimmon Country Club in Connecticut, as they get to the 40th week of their Golfin’ Old Glory golf series. They play as part of a tournament, where they are playing together and in the same team on a 4-man best ball format, but also against each other, for their series. Fun.
The guys came to play and to win this tournament, and also take on each other. You can sense a different level of urgency from the guys; this is what playing in a little tourney does to you — you’re not just proving yourself to your buddy, but to a whole field of players.
They were quickly 2 under through 4, with some help from their partners (who had some pops). But their level of intensity was really a bit higher than normal, which makes the golf a bit more entertaining to watch.
In the end, the greens on this course were running pure and since the BustaJack boys do not typically play country clubs (they are known to always run fast), they could not get the speed down quickly enough.
In the end, their team shot 63 gross (60 net) and took home First Play Gross, which is the best type of accolade in tourneys. Net is okay to win, but you know there’s those sandbaggers out there getting 10 extra pops on their ‘padded’ handicaps. 🙂 You know they exist…just reality.
